Further hotels can be found within just 2 miles / 3 km of Calgary Airport, providing reasonably priced rooms and a range of amenities. The arrivals level at the airport provides courtesy phones to both hotels and car-rental companies.

Calgary: City Hotels and Accommodation
Many people arriving in the area choose to stay in the nearby city center, which is sited approximately 20 km / 12.5 miles southwest of Calgary International Airport (YYC). Accommodation in central Calgary is easy to reach, being connected by regular Airporter buses and occasional shuttles.
Budget accommodation in the city is by no means plentiful. Prices are known to rise as demand increases, particularly during seasonal events, such as the Stampede each July. Advance reservations are therefore sensible during the busiest times. Those traveling on a tight budget should consider staying at the Calgary International Youth Hostel (HI) along 7th Avenue, and at a number of nearby camping sites, on the city's outskirts.
Downtown Calgary has much to offer in the way of hotels, many of which are just a short walk from sights, restaurants, shops and other places of interest. Popular downtown lodging includes the Holiday Inn on 12th Avenue Southwest, the Ramada Hotel Downtown on 8th Avenue, and the Sandman Hotel off 7th Avenue Southwest.
Out-of-town motels are also a popular option in the Calgary area, such as the Travelodge along Sunridge Boulevard Northeast. Many further motels line much of the Trans-Canada Highway and the Macleod Trail.
